Temporary Part-time Housekeeping Aide
There is a temporary part time Housekeeping Aide position available within the Housekeeping Department for approximately one year beginning in March 2010.
This position is unionized with CAW, Local 1106.
HOURS OF WORK: According to department schedule
REQUIREMENTS:
- Housekeeping experience in hospital environment an asset
- Ability to receive written and verbal instructions concerning job routines, operation of equipment and safety precautions
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
- Ability to carry out the physical aspects inherent in this position (see working conditions below).

Physical demands of the job require tasks that involve repeated lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing carts, periodic climbing which include ladders, operation of floor machines and other equipment

Registered Dietitian - Regular Part time (.5 FTE)

As a Registered Dietitian, you provide primarily outpatient counseling for a variety of client referrals, with a focus on Diabetes education. You will spend about 20 percent of your time providing in-patient nutritional assessments, developing nutrition care plans and participating in multi-disciplinary rounds. Your clinical dietitian experience gained in an acute care hospital will provide you with the confidence to collaborate with your professional colleagues and act as a therapeutic consult for nutritional services staff.
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in Food and Nutrition from a recognized University
- Registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO)
- Dietitians of Canada accredited internship completed (or equivalent approved experience)
- Certified Diabetes Educator (preferred)
- Knowledge of the principals of adult education and chronic disease management
Additional qualifications include, excellent oral and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and the capacity for both self-direction and collaboration within the context of an interdisciplinary team.
This position will be based out of North Wellington Health Care with travel required to all sites within the Wellington Health Care Alliance. A valid driver’s license is required.

Geriatric Emergency Management (GEM) Nurse - Full time
If you are a clinical nurse specialist (CNS) or Nurse Clinician with an interest in developing emergency department services for frail seniors, this Regional Geriatric Emergency Management (GEM) Program position, in partnership with the Wellington Health Care Alliance, may be of interest to you.

As a GEM Nurse, you provide an expert clinical resource to better serve frail seniors within the emergency departments across the Alliance. You will liaise with other hospital, community and long-term care services in your region and, together with the other GEM nurses within our LHIN and across the province you will develop ways to build the province's capacity to deliver more effective emergency services for frail seniors.
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (mandatory)
- Completion of Masters Degree In Nursing required; candidates who have completed a BScN and are either enrolled in a Masters program in Nursing or who are committed to obtaining a Masters degree may be considered
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (mandatory)
- Member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (preferred)
- Gerontological Nursing Certification (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years recent experience in geriatrics and/or emergency services
Additional qualifications include, excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of the principles of adult education, comfort with computers, and the capacity for both self-direction and collaboration within the context of an interdisciplinary team. A second language will also be a significant asset.
