OR/ENDOSCOPY BOOKING CLERK
TEMPORARY PART TIME
This position is available on a temporary basis to cover off a maternity leave of absence and is responsible for patient registration and scheduling OR/Endoscopy time for the surgical program and bed management for inpatient admissions. The duration of this leave may range from four (4) to twelve months.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule OR/Endoscopy time in conjunction with Physicians, Physician’s offices etc.
• Using the hospital information systems follow the registration standards and ensure accurate registration of patients with current valid information for each visit.
• Manage contacts in a professional manner understanding the patient is first and foremost.
• Confidentiality of all information is a requirement of employment as well as compliance with the Privacy Act, hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Clerical duties including (but not limited to) organizing of patient information, word processing, filing, chart retrieval/organization, requisition completion, statistical compliance, excel spreadsheets (data entry/organizing data), photocopying and compiling pre operative and other packages for patients and staff of surgical services
• Manage bed allocation in conjunction with Switchboard and nursing department.
Qualifications
• Medical Office Administration Certificate (or related program)
• Medical Terminology certificate, with related experience in a health care setting
• Excellent computer proficiency specifically Excel, Word and Community Wide Scheduling
• Previous registration experience using Meditech
• Exceptional communication, public relations, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Effective problem solver with demonstrated critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
• Effective organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and use time efficiently
• Ability to work independently
Hours of Work:
• Monday – Friday Approximately 25 hours per week as per department schedule, typically between Monday and Friday (9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.)
• Scheduled for relief for switchboard and rotation through switchboard on a regular basis as needed

REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE
REGULAR PART-TIME
EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
There is a regular part time position currently available within the Emergency Department. This position is unionized with CAW, Local 1106.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Membership in RPNAO is an asset
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training an asset
• Demonstrated assessment skills within scope of RPN
• Current certification in BCLS
• ACLS and NRP and asset
• Ability to operate related equipment
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Demonstrated communication skills and teamwork in an inter-professional setting
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
The following training and/or certifications are required or willingness to attain within one (1) year:

REGISTERED NURSE - EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

REGISTERED NURSE - DIABETIC EDUCATOR
FULL TIME - CROSS SITE
POSITION OVERVIEW:
A full time position is available within the Diabetes program across all three sites of the Wellington Health Care Alliance; Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Louise Marshall Hospital (Mount Forest) and Palmerston and District Hospital. This position will be responsible for comprehensive diabetes nursing care as established by the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and according to policies and procedures as set out by North Wellington Health Care and Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
This position requires travel across all sites and therefore a vald drivers' license and reliable vehicle are essential.
DEPARTMENT: Diabetes – (home site for this position to be determined)
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week.
Flexible scheduling and may include evenings and/or weekends
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current Ontario RN Certificate of Competence;
• BScN is an asset;
• Membership in RNAO
• Experience in Diabetes Education
• Certified Diabetes Educator preferred
• Knowledge of the principles of Adult Education and Chronic Disease

REGISTERED NURSE FIRST FLOOR
REGULAR PART TIME AND TEMPORARY FULL TIME
A regular part time and a temporary full time position are available for a Registered Nurse who is able to function capably in all areas of first floor including Surgical, Pediatrics, Labour and Delivery, Post Partum and care of the Newborn, and Complex Continuing Care. The temporary position is available to cover off a leave of absence until approximately Dec. 2012.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Current certificate of Competence for College of Nurses
• Current certificate in BCLS
• Certificate for neo-natal resuscitation (NRP) or willing to complete within six (6) months
• ALARM certification preferred
• ACoRN required (or willing to obtain)
• PALS preferred
• Certified to start I.V.’s and give I.V. meds, including Central Venous Access Devices
• Demonstrated well-developed assessment and nursing skills for antepartum, labour, delivery, post partum, as well as assessment & care of the newborn. (One year full-time experience preferred)
• Willingness to complete Perinatal courses within one (1) year (including Fetal Surveillance, Perinatal Certificates I & II)
• Appropriate advocate with support skills for breastfeeding—interest in pursuing breast feeding certification
• Surgical experience an asset
• Complex Continuing Care experience an asset
• Good communication and patient teaching skills
• Patient focused and Team orientated
SCHEDULE/AVAILABILITY
• Commitment for part time hours as per the current ONA Collective agreement
• Must be available for all three shifts
• Must be available for two weekends in every four

REGULAR PART TIME
HOURS OF WORK:
• Part time days Monday – Friday as per department schedule
• Rotation on-call according to master plan (NOTE: must be able to respond to call to have Operating Room set up and ready in 35minutes)
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current Ontario R.N. Certificate of Competence
• Post Graduate Course in OR required
• 1-3 years OR experience
• BScN an asset;
• Membership in RNAO is an asset;
• Current BCLS;
• ACLS and PALS or willing to obtain;
• Current CSAO certification or willingness to obtain;
• While work will primarily focus on the OR; the successful candidate must be prepared to work in all areas when necessary
