The Diabetes Education Centre, located in the basement of Groves Memorial Community Hospital, offers self management education services to adults with type 1, type 2 diabetes as well as women who have diabetes during pregnancy. Patients learn about diabetes and what steps they can take to stay healthy (diet, exercise and medication options).
We offer 1:1 appointments as well as a variety of classes including: introduction to diabetes, management of diabetes, label reading, carbohydrate counting, exercise and diabetes, foot care and an insulin pump program.
