Help Desk Technician

The Wellington Health Care Alliance (WHCA) is currently accepting applications for 2 Temporary Full Time Help Desk Technicians to join our team.

We are:

  • Two corporations with three Hospital sites + one integrated management team = Wellington Health Care Alliance
  • Located in Wellington County where staff have the luxury of choosing to live in either a rural or urban setting
  • Building a new hospital in Centre Wellington, Ontario to be opened in 2020

We require an individual who:

  • Has the ability to understand a vast array of complex technical issues, solutions and or alternatives
  • Has the ability to understand both the clinical and financial processes of the hospital to ensure quality and integrity of the solutions provided
  • Has the ability to analyze a problem and develop, implement and support the solution
  • Will provide first and second level support for Information Systems hardware, software, network and operating system requests
  • Has in-depth knowledge of regulatory policies and procedures as they relate to the industry (Security, privacy, confidentiality)
  • Has the understanding of user administration, account administration, file administration and account policies
  • Will maintain helpdesk database administration and maintenance
  • Will deploy desktop and life-cycle services
  • Will manage mobile device assignment and deployment, as well as other peripheral equipment, providing preventive maintenance procedures on peripheral and desktop equipment
  • Has the in-depth knowledge of technical procedural documentation, configuration and asset & change management in a rapidly and continuously changing industry
  • Will contribute to the development and implementation of the departmental strategic plan

You would stand out if you have:

  • An IT background, with a degree or diploma in Information Technology or equivalent education/work experience and at least 2 years’ experience in the information systems field, including experience with applications, networking, operations and telecommunications.

Essential skills for the position are:

  • Industry standard technical certifications (desirable)
  • Excellent computer hardware troubleshooting and support skills
  • Proficient with VMware and other virtualization technologies
  • Proficiency with the Windows suite of operating systems and Microsoft Office product line
  • Knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol
  • Knowledge of LAN environment
  • Technical writing / documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Business analysis and problem solving skills
  • Your home office site will be located at Groves Memorial Community Hospital and travel will be required to our sites in Mount Forest and Palmerston.
